Journalism student studying at the University of Illinois

Always aspiring to learn more and grow as a journalist

Hi! My name is Coco Pietsch and I am a second year student at the University of Illinois pursuing a journalism minor. I have had a passion for writing my whole life but developed a passion for journalism and news during high school when I became a writer and op-ed page editor for my school newspaper. It was during that time I decided journalism was something I wanted to pursue professionally and in my higher education. Here at UIUC, I have just begun my journalism minor and have enjoyed taking journalism classes and learning more about the profession as well as putting my knowledge to work by writing stories for assignments. I have also used my skills I've learned here to become a writer for the Daily Illini. I look forward to continuing my education in Journalism and learning more about the craft. I am excited to pursue a professional career in the field and am eager to see what the future has in store.
